At the beginning, professor Zhao introduced us what is the exact meaning of the landscape. He also told us the history of the landscape in China. This all Chinese landscapes give many artists the unlimited conception. Nowadays, we can appreciate the traditional Chinese Painting.
Zhao’s speech began with a video of the Suzhou Garden. Then he talked the meaning of the garden. A prefect garden included complete boundary, the natural topography, water and the trees. Gardens follow the science and the aesthetics. Gardens can be appreciated and lived. China had a long history about the gardens. At the ancient times, the main types of gardens are divided into four parts; they are imperial family garden; private garden; temper garden and the places of interest garden. In the east of China, there are almost the private gardens, and the imperial family gardens for the most parts are in the north of China. Because we are closed to the East, so professor Zhao focus on the Suzhou gardens. People called Suzhou are an old city forest. It is very tranquil. We can find the living history culture.
